This course, taught by an Occupational Therapist and Mum, will explain the reasons behind certain behaviours and support parents with helpful tips to encourage positive behaviour and restore harmony to your family.

This course, taught by an Occupational Therapist and Mum, will explain the reasons behind certain behaviours and support parents of children with SENDS with helpful tips to encourage positive behaviour and restore harmony to your family. Children do not need to have an official diagnosis of SEND.

This course, taught by an Occupational Therapist and mum, will support parents of children with Autism to help them to communicate with their child and understand Autism and ways to support their child. An official diagnosis is not required

Helping Your Child to Manage Stress & Anxiety

Mon 11th & 18th Oct 10am- 1pm

Many children suffer from Stress and Anxiety; this course, taught by an Occupational Therapist and mum, will explain the reasons and triggers for childhood anxieties and share some helpful tips to help you and your child to manage their emotions.

Using Relaxation & Mindfulness to Manage Children’s Anxiety – Cost: free

Friday 8th Oct: 10am- 12.30pm

This practical workshop, taught by a Relax Kids Coach, will explain the reasons and triggers for childhood anxieties and worries and guide you through some useful tips to help calm the mind.

Mary Frances Trust 

 

Mary Francis Trust have a number of short courses and support groups that are running continuously throughout the year. 

 

The Mary Frances Trust provides well-being support for any mental or emotional health issues through one-to-one sessions, courses, groups and activities. They are also available for advice and information.

 

During the Coronavirus pandemic Mary Frances Trust are still offering one-to-one support via phone calls and have a wide range of courses covering subjects from well-being, peer support and physical activities. 

 

How to seek help and access?

  • If you are not already registered, you will need to fill in an online registration form. 
  • Once you are registered you are able to contact them directly via telephone call for advice and information or for a 30 minute telephone call. 
  • Once registered Mary Frances Trust will contact you to ensure you are receiving the appropriate support. 

 

How to access activities? 

  • If you are not already registered, you will need to fill in an online registration form. An initial appointment will then be set up with you via telephone.
  • Once you are registered, you will need internet connection (smart phone, i-pad, laptop or desktop computer)
  • Then download a FREE app called Zoom. 
  • The phone office will then contact a member of the team to book you onto the appropriate course. 
  • Once you receive a link and password by email, you will be able to click on the link at the time the group is set to start.

Family Voice Surrey- Providing parents/carers with a strong collective voice, a forum to share knowledge and empowerment to improve the opportunities for all children. 

 

Family Learning for Parents and Carers. 

 

Family Learning are running free, online workshops and courses for parents and carers. These courses and workshops aim to support parents and carers to give children a positive start in life and help support children's learning and development at school and home. 

 

A wide range of courses are offered online, from parenting and wellbeing to Maths and English for EAL parents. They are delivered in a relaxed and informal way by supportive and knowledgeable tutors.

 

A new workshops has been added, The Accessing Early Years Services and Support Workshop, a FREE 1.5 hour workshop delivered online.
